This study is expected to provide information on the types and diversity of the seaweed on the Sayang Heulang beach, as well as its potential for producing bioethanol.Based on the research findings, the diversity on the Sayang Heulang beach is categorized as moderate. There are twenty (20) types of seaweed in Sayang Heulang Beach, which are classified into three divisions, Rhodophyta (9 types), Chlorophyta (6 types), and Phaeophyta (5 types). Each of the types has the potential to produce bioethanol. Rhodimenia palmata is the most potential for it produces 1.73% (g/g) of bioethanol Optimizing the process of hydrolysis and fermentation, and selecting appropriate microorganisms lead to higher bioethanol production.
